Warrant for man who forged former President's sign

NEW DELHI, Nov 9: Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) R.K. Gauba today issued production warrants to an accused charged with forging former President Shanker Dayal Sharma's signature along with that of two lawyers. He has also been charged with criminal conspiracy.

The accused, Sanjay Kumar Bhutani was arrested on November 2. The production warrants to present Bhutani -- presently in judicial custody -- in the court has been issued for November 11.

He was produced in the CMM's court on November 3 by the CBI. The court rejected a CBI application calling for the accused to be put in police custody. The CMM remanded Bhutani to judicial custody till November 17. The CBI, today, moved another application asking for Bhutani to be sent to police custody.
