"Judge wasn't doing any judicial work when sacked"

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NASHIK, November 11: Additional sessions judge Mahadeo Ganachari of the Malegaon court was compulsorily retired on October 31 and he was doing no judicial work when the High Court order terminating his services was handed over by District and Sessions Judge D S Zoting.

According to a clarification issued by Judge Zoting's office, it was not a ``dramatic event'' and Judge Ganachari was in his chamber and was not hearing any case, when the retirement orders were handed over to him. Judge Ganachari was not wearing a gown and coat and was not asked to remove them, the clarification said.

Besides the serving of the High Court order, no other event took place on the occasion, according to Judge Zoting's office.

According to our reporter, Judge Ganachari and Judge Zoting were both contacted for their comments, but neither was available. The report was based on locally available information and was not aimed at causing offence to any person.
