Catholic union's protest meetThe All India Catholic Union, in association with the Bombay Catholic Sabha, Orlem Unit and the Lourdes Community Action Group, will hold a meeting on November 15 at 10 am at St Anne's High School Hall, Orlem, Malad (west) to protest atrocities committed on the Christian community. The death anniversaries of sisters Priya and Sylvia of Snehasadan, Jogeshwari, who were murdered in November 1990, will also be observed.
Painting competition
The Rotary Club of Churchgate, in association with Bombay Round Table Number 2, will conduct `Strokes' 98', a painting competition for school students. The categories are: Juniors (class V and VI students), Inters (class VII and VIII) and Seniors (class XI and X ). Rehabilitation course by NAB
The National Association for the Blind will start a rehabilitation course forthe visually impaired in January next year. No formal education is required for the course meant for those who haven't received any basic training for employment, higher education and vocational training. There are no fees, and a stipend will be given to trainees every month. Poster making competition
Animal welfare group Ahimsa has organised a poster making competition for school children and an essay writing competition for parents on November 21 at 10 am at the Gold Spot Factory Lawns, Western Express Highway, Andheri (east).
