Colleges affiliated to GU launch three-day bandh

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, Nov 11: Colleges affiliated to Gujarat University will keep alive the storm of protest against the abrupt sacking S B Vora from the post of vice-chancellor with a three-day bandh beginning on Thursday.

The decision was taken at a Wednesday meeting of the Gujarat University College Managements Association, the Gujarat University Area Teachers Association, Gujarat University Non-Teaching Staff Association, and Gujarat University Principals Association. University staff will also observe the bandh.

However, colleges which are examination centres will allow students to take exams. Colleges will work on the next three Sundays so that students can make up for lost classes.

The associations also decided to stage a dharna next Monday.
