Man dies due to burns
One Shubham Subhassingh died on Wednesday in the Mahavir General Hospital of the city where he was being treated for burn injuries for the last three days, the Umra police said. Shubham (22), who was employed as a drum operator at Shivkrupa Process, behind Manhar Dyeing at Ashapuri Industrial Estate, suffered serious burn injuries when the drum exploded. The Umra police have registered a case under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and are investigating.

Burgled
A diamond workshop located in the Kapodara area was burgled on Tuesday night, a case registered in the police station said. One Lavji Kshatriya, the owner of a diamond workshop at Snehamudra Complex near Kapodara Char Rasta, complained to the police that unidentified people broke into his shop and stole weighing scales worth Rs 20,000 and unpolished diamonds. The police have registered a case of house-breaking under sections 457 and 380 of the IPC.

Rioting
The Mahidharpura police on Wednesday registered a case of rioting against four people, who beat up a tenant and threatened to kill him if he did not vacate the premises. All the four have been taken into custody, the police said. Babulal Patel complained to the Mahidharpura police that the four accused namely Fatimabibi Ansari, Sirajudddin Ansari, Sabbir Ansari and Amin Ansari, all members of same family beat him up at Ajanta Guest House and forced him to leave the place. They also threatened to kill him if he did not do so. A personal rivalry is said to be the reason behind the attack. The police have charged the four under sections 452, 323, 427 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
