NEW DELHI, November 11: Romesh Sharma was today remanded to 10-day judicial custody in the helicopter and passport cases. The CMM turned down an application moved by defense counsel Ramesh Gupta to shift the trial of the cases back to the New Delhi court of Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Jai Prakash Narain.Production warrants were also issued against Sharma in two house-grabbing and criminal intimidation cases. The warrant issued by Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Renu Bhatnagar pertains to the FIR filed by complainant Leeta Sahni alleging Sharma of threatening her mother, Renu Bhatnagar, to vacate her C-28, Mayfair Gardens house.
The warrant issued by MM Rajrani Mitra pertains to the FIR filed by Ramesh Malik that at the behest of Sharma, Dawood associate Abu Salem had given Ramesh Malik a threat call. He claimed that his brother, Ashok Malik, had approached Sharma to get him to vacate the C-10, Chirag Delhi house.
In a case pertaining to the Arms Act, Sharma was remanded to judicial custody till November 22 by Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Jai Prakash Narain. The case pertains to the 14 live rounds of ammunition recovered from Sharma's C-30, Mayfair Gardens house after a raid conducted on the night of October 21. Sharma was also remanded to 14 days judicial custody in the case under the Wildlife Act of 1972 by the Additional CMM J.R. Aryan. The case pertains to possession of three animal skins in his Mayfair Gardens residence.
