CP shootout trial begins

NEW DELHI, November 11: The formal trial in the sensational Connaught Place shootout began today in the court of Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) B B Chaudhary. Five prosecution witnesses were deposed in the court who supported the version of the prosecution. Three newspaper photographers and two relatives of the victim, Pradeep Goyal were also produced before the ASJ.The CBI chargesheet alleges that the 10 Crime Branch policemen -- presently in judicial custody -- of resorting to indiscriminate firing without any provocation.
