LG-1 and Jindal enter the final

NEW DELHI, November 12: Jindal Steel and Power beat Jodhpur 10-7 while LG-1 downed HTH Polo 8-5-1/2 in the semi-finals of the Baroda Cup tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here today. In the first semi-final, Jodhpur and Steel and Power began on a fast note with the latter trailing by 1-2 at the end of the first chukker but three goals by Samir Suhag on the trot in the second saw Jindal into the lead. They, then added four goals in the third as against two by their opponents. In the last chukker, Jindal struck twice while Jodhpur managed three but it was of no avail. The scorers for the winners were Samir Suhag (7), Lokendra Singh (2) and Naveen Jindal. Ramiro Garros (5), Vishal Singh and Jaisal Singh scored for the losers.In the second match, the game started with a 1-1/2 goal handicap. LG-1, a 11 goal team, was trailing in the first chukker by two goals but they scored three quick goals in the second chukker to make the score reading 5-3-1/2. But in the third chukker when LG-1 struck three more goals, the team had already sealed the fate of HTH Polo, a nine-goal team. With the score reading 8-3-1/2 in favour of LG-1, the last chukker was a mere formality even as HTH Polo came from behind to reduce the margin by scoring two goals.
