VADODARA, Nov 12: For the first time since its establishment in 1924, the city's Fire Temple (Parsi Agiari) in Sayajigunj has been declared open to the general public for over a three-month long period. With the Fire Temple undergoing a complete renovation in the wake of its diamond jubilee in February 1999, the sacred fire preserved in the premises, has been shifted to a neighbouring building, Agiari Charitable Trust member Jeroo Contractor told Express Newsline.
``It is in view of the fire that we do not permit entry to members of other communities into the Agiari. But we decided to shift the fire to another venue till the work is completed. So anybody is welcome to visit the place till mid of January 1999,'' she said.
