Responsive Govt for MP, promises BJP
The BJP has promised to the people of Madhya Pradesh a transparent and responsive administration, pure drinking water to each citizen of the state, pucca roads to connect each village, 50,000 new jobs every year and ownership rights to tribals who had been cultivating forest land since 1980 or earlier.

EC diktat to media: Ensure fair coverage
With elections in four states a mere fortnight away, the Election Commission (EC) has directed the law and order machinery in these states and the official media to ensure a level playing field to all candidates.

Mamata spurns Cong overtures
Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee rejected the West Bengal Congress plea for her return to the fold saying her party was the "real Congress". She stated that if the Congress was serious about fighting the CPI(M) it should join the real Congress headed by her.
