HYDERABAD, Nov 13: India made a clean sweep of the three match Test series against Sri-Lanka by registering a narrow 3-2 win over the islanders here today. India had won the earlier two Test matches played at Chennai with an idential score of 4-0.For India the goals were scored by Saurabh Bishnoi (17th minute), Gurusevak Singh (36th minute) and Radhakrishnan, while S J Vandalan (55th minute) and MF Hamee (70th min).
India opened their account through a penalty corner in the first half. Gurjant's pass was well stopped by Radhakrishnan on the top of the circle and Saurabh Bishnoi's powerful direct shot sounded the board in the 17th minute.
The second goal for India came in the 36th minute, Harbhajan Singh dribbled past a couple of Lankan defenders and before relaying it to Gurusevak Singh whose back-flick shot went into the cage.
The third goal came through penalty corner. Sourabh Bishnoi's shot was deflected towards Radhakrishnan, who was standing near to the goalline. He pushed the ball into thecross-piece to give India a 3-0 lead.
India's joy was shortlived for the firt time in the series as Sri Lanka opened their account making most of a defensive lapse
Right-out SJ Vandalan found the target in the 55th minute. It was increased in last stages of the match through a penalty stroke converted by Lanka skipper, MF Hamee to take the score to 3-2.
By the time, Lanka could keep the same tempo of the attack, the hooter went off.
