MSEB load shedding
The Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) has been resorting to load shedding for the past four to five days following a short-supply from the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). While supply improved on Monday, MSEB officials have not ruled out a similar situation in the coming days. MSEB draws 1200 to 1400 MW of power per day against its requirements of 1600 MW, said an MSEB officer. For the past three to four days, the shortage was around 600 MW, while MSEB was receiving only 700 to 1000 MW per day.

According to the official, this was due to overdrawing of power by states like Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh who are also on the Western Regional Electricity Board.
