Prasad, Joshi send Hyderabad in a tizzy

BANGALORE, NOV 17: The stars continued their contribution for Ranji champions Karnataka. Bowlers Venkatesh Prasad and Sunil Joshi accounted for 10 of the 13 Hyderabad wickets, thus strengthening the hosts' position in the South Zone league match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Tuesday.

At the end of the penultimate day's play, the visitors were placed at a precarious 81 for three in their second innings. At close of play, Vanka Pratap on 18 (32m, 27b, 3x4) and MV Sridhar on 5 (21m, 15b, 1x4) were at the crease. That was after Hyderabad were bundled out for 259 in the first essay.

Vidarbha in trouble

NAGPUR: Cloudy weather, controversial umpiring and some suicidal batting put the possible Vidarbha victory under covers, as the hosts, after gaining 56-run first innings lead, were reeling at 65 for 5 in their second innings at the end of penultimate day's play against Rajasthan in thier Central Zone Ranji Trophy league match here today.

Overnight rains delayed the startby 75 minutes and then two interruptions on bad light appeals by the Rajasthan batsmen were quite enough to irritate the Vidarbha players.
