VADODARA, Nov 17: The Vadodara Rickshaw Chalak Congress has submitted a memorandum to Police Commissioner Kuldip Sharma demanding to ban illegal operation of luxury buses carrying passengers from one place to another in the city.Joint secretary of the Rickshaw Congress Yusuf Ghanchi said that luxury buses were operating without permit on busy city roads which had hit autorickshaw operators below the belt.
He said that majority of the rickshaw drivers were workers who had lost jobs following closure of textile mills in the city. It would be extremely difficult for such autorickshaw operators to make both hands meet if no action was taken against unauthorised operation of luxury buses in the city, he stated.
