Cops to take action over eunuchs
Police Commissioner Maniram has asked all those who feel harassed by eunuchs to either contact the concerned police station or the city police control room. The statement comes in the wake of increased complaints of eunuchs causing commotion and problems with the marriage season in full swing.

While stating that their demand for money was illegal, he warned that legal action would be initiated against them according to the provisions of the law. He said he had received complaints that the eunuchs were behaving indecently, if their demands were not obliged.

Panel's visit
The expert committee, set up by the Union Government to recommend a new textile policy after reviewing the existing one, will visit Surat for two days from November 21. Committee Chairman S R Sathyam and member secretary and Textile Commissioner B C Khatuya will make an on-the-spot study of problems faced by the local industry. The Surat Art Silk Cloth Manufacturers' Association has sought representations from individuals and associations to be forwarded to the committee. The written representations should reach the association office at Resham Bhavan, Lal Darwaja, by November 20.

Furniture show
Godrej, pioneer in the field of quality furniture items, has arranged a three-day furniture show at Tirupati Plaza, Athwagate, between November 20 and 22. The latest models of desking, seating, storage and open plan office systems will be on display. The items have been designed for modern offices keeping ergonomics criterion in mind. Security items like video door phones, electronic alarm systems, among others, will also be on display.

Shah visits IDI
Gujarat Assembly Speaker Dhirubhai Shah visited the Indian Diamond Institute on Monday.
