22-year-old woman stabbed
A 22-year-old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her nephew on Monday in village Chaura Raghunathpur in Gautam Budh Nagar. The police arrested the suspect on Tuesday after he reportedly confessed to the crime. According to the police, a year and a half ago, accused Harish developed illicit relations with his aunt, Anju. After Gulshan found out, he restricted his nephew's visits to the house. On Monday, Harish came to Gulshan's place and reportedly teased Anju. When Anju resisted, he allegedly stabbed her in the abdomen and fled.Two killed in road mishaps
An unidentified 50-year-old man (5'7'', wearing a pink-striped shirt and grey trousers) died after being run over at Swami Dayanand Road on Monday. In another accident, a bus ran over a scooterist and an unidentified pedestrian. The pedestrian (around 50-55 years of age, 5'6'', wearing a cream-coloured kurta-pyjama) was waiting at a traffc signal when a private bus bearing a UP number plate hit him, dragged him along and hit the scooterist, Vahid Khan. The pedestrian died on the spot.
Assistant SI kills himself
An Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Ghaziabad Police committed suicide early on Tuesday morning by consuming poison at his residence in the Harsaun police line in Ghaziabad. Kadar Singh (35) was the head operator at the police control room in Ghaziabad.
Two die in roof collapse
A contractor and labourer died in the Kakrola area near Janakpuri when the roof of a building which was under construction collapsed. The two were working on the roof and died on the spot when a support gave away.
