Three share the lead

NEW DELHI: Unfancied Shruti Khanna carded one under-71 to emerge joint leader with Parnita Garewal and Nonita Lal Qureshi at the end of the third and penultimate round of the 31st Siel Northern India Ladies Golf Championship here on Thursday. Defending champion Parnita Grewal (Chandigarh) carded one over par 73 to catch up with nine time winner Nonita Lal who shot five over 77.

Leading scorers (after 48 holes): 224 Nonita Lal Qureshi, Parnita Grewal, Shruti Khanna; 227 Urvashi Sethi-Sodhi; 231 Anjali Chopra; 235 Lalita Balasubramanium; 236 Vandana Agarwal; 240 Ayesha Kapoor; 245 Seema Sobti; 247 Irina Brar.

Bagade shines

PUNE: A chanceless knock of 54 by Rohan Bagade and his 49-run third wicket stand with Sushant Manjrekar (39 not out) helped Mumbai coast to 136 for three against hosts Maharashtra on the second day of the rain-ruined West Zone Under-19 Cooch Behar league tie being played at the Deccan Gymkhana Grounds here on Thursday. Manjrekar (39) and PushkarajJadhav (8) remained undefeated at the draw of stumps.

Brief scores: Mumbai 136-3 (Rohan Bagade 54, Sushant Manjrekar 39 batting; Sanjay Patil 1-44, Vivek Deshmukh 1-31, Murugan Rathi 1-20) vs Maharashtra.

State in semis

PUNE: Hosts Maharashtra, Air-India and Andhra Pradesh today made the semi-final rounds in the 23rd Senior National Womens Cricket Championship for the B C Ganguly Trophy being played at various grounds here.

Indo-Pak hockey

NEW DELHI: Traditional rivals India and Pakistan will play a ten-test hockey series early next year and the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) president Akhtar Rasool arrived here today to finalise the details with his Indian counterpart K P S Gill.

All-India boxing

CHANDIGARH: More than 200 national and international boxers will take part in the sixth All-India A K Misra Memorial Boxing Championship beginning here on Friday. Twenty teams, including A and B teams of the hosts will participate in the event.
