Sena chief obsessed with Maharashtra, says VHP

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
CHANDIGARH/PUNE, Nov 25: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) General Secretary Giriraj Kishore today criticised Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray for, what he alleged, ``seeing everything with Maharasthra angle''.

``Bal Thackeray .. sees everything with a Maharashtra angle. He does not see things with the National angle,'' Kishore told reporters in Chandigarh, while referring to the Shiv Sena chief's opposition to allowing the Pakistani cricket team to play here.

When pressed to answer whether he favoured Pakistan playing in Maharashtra, the VHP leader evaded a direct answer, saying he had said what he had to say. But he added that Bal Thackeray had also gone against everyone's wishes and views while renaming a bridge in Mumbai.
