MUMBAI, NOV 25: Milind Nevgi won his fourth successive game and emerged sole leader with four points in the under-16 section of the Junior Selection chess tournament, organised by the Bombay Chess Association, at the Zandu Pharmaceutical Works Canteen, Sayani Road, today.Nevgi, who had white pieces, slayed the Sicilian Dragon of top seed Sagar Masurekar.
Prasanna Iyer, who defeated Seema Tekwani, is on the second spot along with Rajan Ghadi, Sushant Kamtekar and Sagar Redkar with three points each.
Sagar Sadavarte, the top seed in the under-14 group, and Niral Sanghavi, who drew the game against each other, are jointly leading the field wih 3.5 points each along with Milind Ketakar. Parag Terwadkar, Rohit Yermal, A Moralwar and Makrand Shinde are placed second with three points to their credit.
In the under-10 category, Akshay Deshmukh and Vishal Shah have won four games in a row and are jointly in the lead with four points each.
In the under-8 section, Siddharth Kotian, who shocked top seed AkshayBhor, is jointly leading the field with three points after three rounds together with Umang Khagran, Parth Agrawal and Dhruvit Shah.
MPT in command
Mumbai Port Trust (MPT) were in a happy position against Central Bank on the second day of the three-day Times Shield B Division cricket tournament at the Karnatak ground, Cross maidan, today.
A century by Shailesh Manjrekar and half centuries by Arun Patil (51), Anil Sakpal (69) and Naresh Kambli (54) enabled MPT to hit up 351 afer electing to bat. Manjrekar's knock of 101 was studded with seven fours.
Medium-pacer Wasim Sayad was the pick of the bowlers with five for 115 in 30 overs. He was well-supported by left-arm spinner Ratan Sharma (2-52).

Mayur Tawde and Sim Sim Salaria will lead the Mumbai Suburban District Badminton Association's men's and women's teams, respectively, in the MBA Senior Inter-District and State Badminton championships to be held atThane from November 27 to December 2.
