VADODARA, Nov 25: In a case registered in the city police station, four men armed with swords snatched a bag containing important parcels and documents from a local courier service firm employee standing at the Bhutdi Jhampa bus stand, on Monday morning and escaped.According to the police, Amratbhai Madhavbhai Patel, an employee of Maganlal Shankarlal courier service, located in Sultanpura locality, was about to board a bus for Godhra at 5 am on Monday when four people, armed with swords, reached there and snatched the bag from him. They then escaped in Maruti car standing outside the bus stand.
Patel used to go daily to Godhra with mails, particularly belonging to businessmen and traders and return in the evening, the police said. The police, quoting eyewitnesses, said the vehicle in which the miscreants escaped was a blue Maruti car (GJ-7-4736).
The police have ruled out robbery as the motive behind the incident as the bag did not contain cash or valuables. The police suspect some business group, trying to possess important business documents of their rivals, to be responsible for the act.
