CISF donates Rs 1 crore

DELHI, Nov 25: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has made a contribution of Rs 1 crore for the Prime Minister's Relief Fund by donating one day's basic pay. Director General of CISF Ravi Kant Sharma presented the cheque to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee at his office on Tuesday. This is not the first time when CISF has voluntariy contributed to the cause of nation. This paramilitary force has been among the first to reach Latur to save earthquake victims, to evacuate cyclone victims in Andhra Pradesh and to save lives in Sikkim landslide.Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
