Hoechst plans merger with Rhone-Poulenc
German pharmaceuticals and chemicals group Hoechst AG confirmed on Wednesday that it was in talks with France's Rhone-Poulenc SA about merging their life science businesses.

Ministry asks IA to sell surplus assets
The Union finance ministry has asked the national carrier Indian Airlines to tap its surplus assets worth Rs 400 crore to restructure its balance sheet instead of hiking fares periodically. The ministry's representative on the airline's board, P K Brahma has severely castigated the management's recent move to increase fares by a whopping 11%.

Telco to roll out petrol MUVs
Telco is planning to roll out petrol versions of its popular multi utility vehicles (MUV). The auto major is currently working on the petrol variants of Safari, Sierra and Estate and these MUVs will be launched after Telco's small car Indica hits the road in the second week of December.
