Cancer patient jumps to death

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, Nov 27: A 21-year-old cancer patient admitted at the Tata Memorial Hospital committed suicide on Thursday morning by jumping from the 12th floor terrace of the hospital. Police said Vishal Masurkar was diagnosed as suffering from cancer of oesophagus a few months back and was admitted to the hospital on November 21 after his condition deteriorated.

On Thursday the boy's father went to toilet around 7 am. When he came back he found that Vishal was not in his bed. Inquiries with other patients revealed that he was seen going towards the terrace. When he went to the terrace, he saw Vishal ready to jump. Even as Vishal's father shouted out to the boy, he took the plunge. Police said Vishal died on the spot. A case of suicide has been registered at Bhoiwada police station.
