Delhi Shiv Sena demonstrates against proposed Pakistan tour

UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, NOV 27: The Delhi unit of Shiv Sena today staged a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in the city to protest against the proposed tour of the Pakistani cricket team to India early next year and the planned bus service from the Capital to Lahore.

Shiv Sena Delhi and northern India chief Jaibhagwan Goel said a large number of Shiv Sena party activists courted arrest during the demonstration and were released later.

Goel said that the Sena would not allow the Pakistani team to play any matches in Delhi, while Satish Pradhan, MP, threatened that they would not let the team play anywhere in the country.

In a memorandum to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, they said India should not develop relations with Pakistan in any field until Islamabad stopped aiding and abetting terrorism on Indian soil.
