Kisan Credit Card launched

CHANDIGARH, Nov 27: In an attempt to facilitate grant of loans to farmers, the Bank of Baroda today launched the "Baroda Kisan Credit Card" at a function held at Samrala. The Kisan Credit Card Scheme, which has been drawn by NABARD, is being implemented by leading public sector banks.Unveiling the new scheme, Krishan Swaroop, director of the Bank of Baroda, said the card will cater to the professional and personal needs of farmers. He hoped that the concept of Kisan Credit Card will be instrumental in the overall growth of farmers. "Now, farmers will not have to visit banks to withdraw money," he added. N.R.
