Govt failed on onion front, admits Vajpayee
With the angry consumers and the assembly elections firmly behind him, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on Friday admitted that the Central Government had failed to take timely action on the onion issue, which probably accentuated the price of the vegetable over the past few months.

Congress remains reluctant on trust vote
The Congress appears to be giving the BJP-led coalition government some breathing space following its refusal to move a no-confidence motion in the coming Parliament session and its reluctance to back such a motion moved by any other party.

BJD rivals convene separate meetings
A final show down has begun in the crisis ridden Biju Janata Dal (BJD) as the two warring groups have convened the legislature party meeting separately on Nov 30 in view of the winter session of the State Assembly beginning in Bhubaneswar on Dec 1.
