Poll results will not harm alliance: Munde

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, Nov 30: Deputy Chief Minister Gopinath Munde today declined to comment on Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's comment that the Bharatiya Janata Party lost the Assembly polls owing to its indecisiveness over the Vande Mataram row.

``I don't want to comment on Thackeray's remarks since it's his personal opinion. As far as the BJP is concerned, our view is that we were badly mauled owing to spiralling prices of essential commodities and our inability to explain to the electorate its cause,'' Munde said. However, Munde reiterated that the poll results will not have any adverse impact on the alliance government. ``Our alliance will remain intact even in the next Assembly elections,'' he added.

On sugarcane workers demands, Munde said, by and large, his government has accepted their demands.
