VADODARA, Dec 1: Two policemen of Narmada district have been suspended with immediate effect for being found drunk while raiding a liquor party at the residence of a news stringer in Tilakwada town late on Sunday night.An anonymous caller informed Narmada DSP Hasmukh Patel about the liquor party at the stringer's house, saying the party also had Tilakwada PSI M H Rathod as one of the guests. The DSP, in turn, asked Rajpipla Local Crime Branch Inspector R L Rathwa to raid the place. The DSP followed him there.
However, the officials found only the stringer there and inebriated. He was arrested and brought to Tilakwada police station and PSI Rathod was called in. The DSP found him drunk. He also found the raiding PI drunk. Both were suspended, and cases booked against the three under the Prohibition Act, the DSP said.
