Naval officer faces inquiry following wife's suicide

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, DEC 2: A 28-year-old woman, wife of a Naval officer, committed suicide by consuming insecticide at her Navy Nagar residence on Monday evening. A note left behind by her said she was ``fed up of her husband.''

A case has been registered against her husband under Section 306 of IPC.

Colaba Police today said Archana Mishra was found dead in flat no 6/D, Swati Building by her husband, Vinaykumar Mishra, when he returned home from duty around 9 pm on Monday. Prima facie evidence suggested the woman had consumed Baygon Spray, police said.

A defence spokesman today said that an internal inquiry has been instituted against Mishra. He, however, refused to say what action would be initiated against the accused if he was found guilty.
