Unbeaten 104 by Jaya
An unbeaten 104 by Jaya Sharma helped Maitreyi beat Gargi by five wickets to enter the final of Delhi University inter-college women's cricket at Daulat Ram College. The winners will meet Kamla Nehru College in the final on December 6.

PNB sports meet
Northern Zone and Bihar Zone entered the semifinals in cricket beating Central UP and Eastern Zone by 32 and four runs, respectively, in the 16th All India PNB inter-zonal sports meet. In football, Eastern Zone defeated Bihar 3-0.
St Michael's beat Bal Bharati
St Michael's School beat Bal Bharati 46-43 in the boys section of fifth Bal Bharati invitational basketball tournament. In other matches, APS beat J D Tytler 47-36 and Ramjas No. 4 defeated BBPS (Biraj Vihar) 35-16. In girls section, Modern beat Mont Fort 20-17 and J D Tytler downed APS 21-14.
Hinduja announces incentives
The Hinduja Sports Foundation announced awards for Indian sportspersons winning medals in the Bangkok Asian Games. The gold medal winner will receive Rs 2000 per month for the next four years-till the 2002 Asian Games while silver medal winner will receive Rs 1500 per month and the bronze medallist Rs 1000 per month for four years. This award scheme, however, will not be applicable to team games.
DDA Indoor Games
H K Kohli entered the quarter-finals of the men's singles table tennis of the 12th DDA Indoor Games beating Rajesh Kumar Sharma 13-21, 21-17, 21-19. In another match, unseeded D.S. Negi gave a tough fight to second seed P K Tyagi before going down 19-21, 22-24.
MCA volleyball
Shivaji College came back from two games down to beat IGT 11-15, 13-15, 15-2, 17-15, 16-14 in the second Delhi state invitation volleyball tournament at YMCA. In other matches, Air Force downed Dhaka Sports 5-15, 15-11, 15-4, 15-6; CRPF beat Parshant Club 15-6, 15-6, 15-1 and Northern Railway defeated LIC 9-15, 15-9, 15-8, 15-13.
