MUMBAI, December 3: All educational institutions run by the Church in Mumbai will be closed today as part of a nationwide protest against the recent attacks on Christians throughout the country.The 167 institutions run by Christian bodies or the Church in the city will be closed, as will be other Christian institutions. Only hospitals and essential services will remain open, but their employees will wear black badges.
Hansel D'Souza for the Bombay Catholic Sabha told Express Newsline, ``December 4 will be observed as a National Protest Day with prayer and fasting by all Christians in the country. Meetings will be convened to spread awareness about the evil of communal forces.'' Archbishop of Bombay, Ivan Dias, has expressed his support for the protest.
