MUMBAI, December 3: Two Chhota Shakeel gangsters were arrested at Sewri on Wednesday evening. Thomas Joseph Koli (36) was arrested near Sewri Cross Road at around 3.40 pm. A .32 revolver and five live rounds were recovered from him. The police are gathering information on Koli's stone crushing unit at Navi Mumbai and a garment export firm.Koli's interrogation led to the arrest of his driver Sudhir Suresh Patil, who had a country-made revolver and four live rounds in his possession. The duo were remanded to custody by a metropolitan magistrate at Esplanade Court this afternoon.
In another case, a jeweller was looted of gold biscuits worth Rs 10.5 lakh at Kalbadevi on Wednesday afternoon. The jeweller was carrying 21 gold biscuits near Cotton Exchange when five men dragged him into a white Maruti car. He was later released at an isolated spot at near RTO office, Tardeo.
