NEW DELHI, December 3: Last year's winners Delhi Zone defeated Bihar Zone by 85 runs to enter the semi-finals in cricket in the All India Punjab National Bank sports meet at Karnail Singh Stadium here today. Delhi's captain Neeraj Sharma scored 59 runs while Ramesh Rajput took four wickets for 21. HS Kohli scored 30 runs.Brief Scores: Delhi: 172 for 2 (Neeraj Sharma 59, Manoj Gupta 24 not out, Sudhir 2 for 30). Bihar: 87 all out (MM Prasad 38, Ramesh 4 for 21, Pawan 2 for 16).
In another quarter-final match, last year's runners-up Punjab Zone thrashed West UP Zone by eight wickets and qualified for the semi-finals. In kho-kho, Northern Zone defeated Rajasthan Zone by one innings and three points and entered the finals of the competition.
In another kho-kho match, Western Zone entered the semi-finals by defeating Bihar Zone by three points in a well-contested match.
In basketball, last year's winners Punjab Zone defeated East UP Zone 45-34 and earned the right to meet Delhi Zone in the final to be played tomorrow.
In volleyball, Punjab Zone defeated Eastern Zone 3-1 in a one-sided match, winning 15-4, 11-15, 15-1, 15-6.
In athletics, newcomer Prem Lata of Delhi Zone enabled Delhi Zone to win the 4x100m, clocking 1:10.0 minutes.
