Cabinet expansion today
With the Government under pressure to pull up its socks after the BJP's electoral rout, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has decided to go in for a limited Cabinet expansion today. He will induct Jaswant Singh, Pramod Mahajan and Jagmohan into the Cabinet.

Govt stalls trial of strength in LS
The beleaguered BJP-led government yesterday stalled a virtual trial of strength and escaped a major embarrassment in the Lok Sabha by preventing a vote sought by an alert Opposition on the issue of Essential Commodities Bill, the first after the rout of BJP in the recent Assembly elections.

Joshi defers Maharashtra Cabinet expansion
In a surprise move, Chief Minister Manohar Joshi has postponed the Cabinet expansion scheduled to be held on December 7. ``After consulting Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, I will expand the Cabinet in the first week of January,'' Joshi said in a statement.
