DPC signs deal with Oman LNG

MUMBAI, DEC 8: Dabhol Power Company (DPC) today signed a deal with Oman LNG for buying 1.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for a period of 20 years.

The sale and purchase agreement (SPA) in this regard was signed in Oman today by the General Manager, Oman LNG, Tony Hanna and managing director, Enron, Sanjay Bhatnagar, according to an Oman LNG release.

The SPA signed today, follows the earlier signing of a agreement in August which included the principle commercial terms including the price for 1.2 mtpa. Negotiations since then have resulted in the supply of LNG from Oman being increased to 1.6 mtpa, the release added.
