BJP ignores ADMK's rumblings

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, DEC 8: The BJP today shrugged off the rumblings from the AIADMK. ``Our information is that she is not supporting the Opposition-sponsored strike (on December 11) against the BJP-led government,'' said party spokesman M Venkaiah Naidu.

The BJP also dismissed the disbanding of the AIADMK Front as a ``local factor'' and said that it would not affect the government at the Centre. The Front was formed to jointly contest the Lok Sabha elections and its breaking would not make any difference now, he said.

On AIADMK chief J Jayalalitha's complaint that she had not been consulted before Prime Minister A B Vajpayee expanded his Cabinet last week, he said, ``Everyone was consulted by the PM and Coordination Committee Convenor George Fernandes before Vajpayee's mini-Cabinet expansion. Besides, Cabinet expansion is the PM's prerogative.''
