PANCHKULA, Dec 8: An autopsy carried out on the body of a Class XII student, Prateek Pondel, found dead in his hostel room yesterday, has been unable to determine the cause of death.Sources say that some vital organs have now been sent for chemical examination to establish the cause of death.So far police have ruled out any foul play or suicide. When spoken to, some of the deceased's teachers at the Sector 16 Saint Soldier Divine Public School said that Prateek had been a good student and an outstanding athlete.A few days ago, he had even won a prize at a cycle rally organised in the township. While the school principal was not available for comment, his teachers said he had shown no signs of depression, and instead had been his usual cheerful self. He had joined the school about two years ago, after completing his matric from Nepal.
His body was handed over to his father today, who had come from Nepal. Faculty members say that so far his mother, who is still at his native place is unaware of her son's demise. She has not been intimated about the incident as she is not in good health. Meanwhile, a labourer who had been found murdered near Raipur Rani yesterday is still to be identified. SP Alok Mittal said that a dog squad had been pressed into service.
