TN Govt's `Vigorous' alternative to Viagra

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHENNAI, DEC 9: For all those Indians for whom Viagra is out of reach, the Tamil Nadu Government undertaking, `Tampcol' has come out with a desi version `Vigorous,' which the manufacturers claim is not just a stimulant but a rejuvenator. Priced at Rs 360, the herbal drug will supposedly reactivate the cells which decay in course of time, Tampcol managing director R K Sharma said while launching the product today in Chennai.

Sharma said a dosage of two tablets at bed-time will suffuse the body and mind with renewed energy within three hours. The composition of each 500 mg capsule goes thus -- Kokilaksya improves ``Spermatozoa, diuretic and corrects urinogenital tract''. Atmagupta is a ``nervine tonic'' and Aphrodisiac improves ``libido'' whereas Jivanthi is a ``good stimulant''. Asvagandha is a tonic which ``removes exhaustion and provides strength''. The drug, while on trial for five months, was used on 500 persons and according to the MD, none of them reported any side-effects.

The herbal non-harmonalrejuvenator helps in restoring the psychological and functional homeostasis in the body. However, `Vigorous' is not for women but men of any age group could use it. In fact, it is superior to Viagra in the sense that it acts not merely as a stimulant but as a tonic that improves the functioning of the brain, Sharma claimed, adding the cells in the human body decay not just due to age but also owing to pollution and stress and strain. `Vigorous' worked in negating these factors, he said.

Sharma claimed that medical advice was not required to use the drug. Plans to export the product are in the offing, he added.
