NEW DELHI, December 9: Rachna Sharma of Daulat Ram College established a meet record in women's triple jump in the Delhi University inter-college athletics meet at Chhattarsal Stadium here today.Rachna leaped to a distance of 10 metres, eclipsing the old mark of 9.72 metres set by Daulat Ram College in 1997-98. Manju of Gargi came second in 9.36 metres while kamla Nehru College's Tameena finished third clocking 9.20 metres.
Rachna also emerged the winner in 100 metres with a time of 12.6 seconds. Rajni of Jesus and Mary College came second (13 seconds) and Indraprastha College's Taruna Behl was third in 13.6 seconds.
The top honours in the gruelling 10,000 metres event went to Vinod Kumar of Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, who maintained his early lead to finish with a timing of 32:15:4. Nirender Singh of Moti Lal Nehru College (3 :13:9) while Ranjeet (Shivaji College) was third in 36:53:4.
The men's 100 metre event was won by Debrasish of Kirori Mal College with a time of 11.1 seconds.

Women's handball: Jesus and Mary College retained the inter-college women's handball title when they beat Khalsa College 12-10 in their final league encounter at Vivekananda College. Harpreet (4), Meetu (4), Isha (2) and Rewa (2) were the scorers for the winners while Suman (4), Sumita (4), Sharuti (2) scored for Khalsa College.
In another league encounter, Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences defeated I P College 8-5.
Final standings: 1.Jesus and Mary (6 points), 2.IGIPESS (4), 3.SGTB Khalsa (2), 4. Indra Prastha College (2).
