Two-year-old succumbs to injuries A two-year-old child, who fell off the second floor of an apartment in Varachha area of the city on Tuesday, died in the Ashaktashram hospital during the early hours of Wednesday, according to a statement by the Varachha police. Rupesh Khodawala fell off the balcony of a flat in Ghanshyamnagar and sustained head injuries. He was rushed to the Ashaktashram hospital where he succumbed to he injuries. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered, according to the statement.Cable stolen In yet another case of electrical cable being stolen in a span of three days, GEB officials today informed the Kapodara police that some unidentified persons stole 400 metres of electric cable from Pun Kumbharia Patia during Tuesday night. Kamal Sutradhar, a spokesperson for GEB told the police that the company was to install the cables, valued at Rs 12,000, at Pun Kumbharia Patia itself. A case under section 379 of the IPC has been registered at the police station. Duped A cloth-processor-cum-viewer was duped of 24 cartons of grey cloth valued at Rs 20,000 on Wednesday. Rasik Ibrahim Memon filed a complaint at the Salabatpura police station stating that he gave the grey cloth to one Firozekhan Pathan, residing at Ved Darwaza on December 2, but Pathan escaped with the cloth without settling his outstanding bill with Memon.
