SURAT, Dec 9: Even as the sensational kidnapping, rape and murder of two minors of the Phulpada area has been baffling the police, a man reported to the police that his daughter and two other girls were missing. The children were later found safe and playing in a nearby area.One Adhikari Patil residing in the Madanpura area of the city lodged a complaint in the Limbayat police station on Wednesday afternoon, stating that his daughter Meghna Adhikari Patil (3) and two other girls Laxmi Shivlal Patil (3) and Bhuri Santosh Patil (2) were missing since 10.45 in the morning.
Swinging into action, Limbayat Police Inspector G C Chaudhary and the staff launched a search for the children. They were found at around 6 pm at Mithikhali area, some two kms off their houses. ``There was much anxiety and fear among both the residents and the police but the children were safe and were found playing by themselves,'' Chaudhary told Express Newsline.
Top officials, who visited the police station during the evening, expressed satisfaction over the quick action of the police and congratulated the Limbayat police for the timely action. The case registered in the police station was withdrawn.
