Deliveries for the second round of orders would begin in February, a statement from HMIL said here.Customer orders would be accepted against production volumes of February-March next year on full payment basis at existing prices of the car.
Deliveries against these orders would commence once the company completed delivery of all its existing orders, received during the first round of booking.
HMIL currently manufactures 4,000 cars on a one-shift basis at its Chennai plant and the estimated volumes for the two months of February-March is 8,000 cars.
The South Korean chaebol had claimed that it had received 15,470 orders for the car during the first five days of booking between October 8 to 12.
As many as 4,567 cars were delivered in the last two months. The company expects to deliver about 3,500 cars in December and complete the balance in January.
HMIL had targeted to sell about 20,000 cars in the current fiscal and over 60,000 in 1999-2000, the statement added.
