BANGKOK, DEC 12: Indian chances of reaping two medals from the Asian Games regatta looked bright on the penultimate day of yachting competitions with enterprise class sailors Ashim Mongia and Pushpendra Garg and Gautam Dutta in OK Open category lying second and third respectively at the AO-Dongtam Sattahip Bay here.Both the enterprise duo and Dutta were out of the gold medal reckoning but are fighting for silver and bronze.
With the final day's two races left, strong medal hopefuls Mongia and Garg were sailing smoothly at the second spot with 25 points behind South Korea's Yoon-Gil Chung and his helmsman Lim Jin-Young, who had logged 18 penalty points, but tied with the Pakistan pair of Mamoon Sadiq and Munir Sadiq who also had an identical 25 points.
In the first race of the day, the seventh, Mongia and Garg finished second with strong winds, but slipped to sixth spot in the second race to set up an exciting final day's programme with the Pakistan duo breathing down their neck.
Dutta maintained hisconsistent sailing to remain third with 26 penalty points overall behind Jun Hong-Chul of South Korea (15 penalty points) and Klong Lye-Ming of Singapore who was second with 21 penalty points with just one more set of races to be held.
