HRTC facing losses: Minister

NAHAN, Dec 13: Himachal Pradesh Transport Minister Krishan Kapoor while talking to media persons at Paonta Sahib yesterday, admitted that Himachal Road Transport Corporation was facing heavy losses but steps were on to bring them down. He said he had also directed the department officers to avoid extravagance.Kapoor also said strict action was being taken against the corrupt officials of the department. He said he also knew that some bungling was done in purchases of spare parts and that was being checked. Kapoor said the new transport policy was also being framed to check tax evasion by private transporters. He said maintenance of cleanliness on bus stands was also a big problem and he had directed the concerned officers to personally check them.
