Centre to push for power cess, SEB reforms
The Centre will push for levy of a cess of five paise per kwh on power generation, setting up of state electricity regulatory commissions (SERCs), toning up of state electricity boards (SEBs) and securitisation of dues of power utilities at the chief ministers (CMs) conference beginning in Delhi today.

Centre guarantee to ARCs soon
The Centre is planning to offer guarantee to the bonds that will be floated by the proposed asset reconstruction companies (ARCs). The government decision to back the ARC bonds through guarantees will remove a major hurdle towards the setting up of ARCs in the country.

NYLI launches $100 mn India dedicated fund
The New York Life International Inc, the global arm of New York Life Insurance Company, has launched a US $ 100 million (Rs 10 crore) India dedicated fund which will invest in the Indian economy.
