THRISSUR, Dec 18: A Thatched temple having an icon of the deity of the famous Kodungalloor Bhagawathy temple and the house attached to it were set on fire by some unidentified persons at Thottappu under the Chavakkad police limits last night.Police said the Hindu rituals like oracle's thullal (ritualistic dancing) were being held there in the morning and evening daily, attracting Hindus and Muslims alike, for over two years.
All precautions have been taken to avoid tension in the area following the incident. A peaceful situation was prevailing in the area, police said adding that investigations were on.
