MUMBAI, DEC 19: Mumbai's premier legal institute, the Government Law College, today went cyber by inaugurating a website on the college, in the presence of legal luminaries of the Bombay High Court including the Acting Chief Justice, Ashok C Agarwal.GLC has now become the first law institution in the country to have its own website.Making use of multi-media technology, the impressive website (Internet address is www.glc.edu) has been solely designed by GLC students.
The home page gives a detailed background on the 143 year old history of the college and other valuable information.``The website will now provide a glimpse to not only India, but the whole world about your college, that has produced some of the greatest jurists and lawyers in the country,'' said Justice Agarwal, in his address. to the students of GLC. He added that it was indeed a proud achievement for GLC.
The principal of the college, Ms Parimala Rao, said, ``With the launch of the web site, we have also featured the new collegeprospectus on the Net.
GLC was the first college to introduce the 5-year law course after HSC, in 1993; and this academic year, the first batch of students of this new course will be graduating.''
At the launch function, an alumni association of the college was also formed.
