Rucha sets new meet jump mark

MUMBAI, DEC 19: Rucha Naniwadekar of Vasant Vihar, Thane set a new meet record in the girls high jump with 1.39 metres jump in the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School Athletic championships at the University pavilion.

IPCL through

IPCL, Nagothane scored a comfortable win 3-1 over BPCL (Refinery) in the fourth division pool A match of the Bombay Hockey Association, sponsored by Punjab National Bank, played at the Naigaum Police headquarters ground. For IPCL, Anthre Kerketta, K P Singh and Gopal Bisht scored a goal each while the goal for BPCL was scored by Hillary Lobo.

SPG well placed

Fine bowling performances by medium pacer Rupam Malviya (3-30) and Venkat Mudaliyar (3-49) helped Shivaji Park Gymkhana (SPG) to restrict Parsee Gymkhana to 133-9 in the semi-final of the Purshottam Shield cricket tournament (70 overs) at Shivaji Park, today.

IIT Mumbai win

IIT Mumbai beat IIT Delhi 2-0 to claim the football title of the 34th Inter IIT championship at Powai today. Ranvir Singh and Akshat Shukla scored for Mumbai.
