Supplementary exam results
The Punjab University will declare the results of the supplementary examinations held in October this year on December 23 for B.Ed, Gyani, MA I (Geography), M.Sc. II (Maths) and MA II (Psychology), a press release issued by Joint Controller of Examinations, Ashok Raj Bhandari said. Copies of the result gazette will be available at the PU enquiry, it was added.

Bar Association polls on Jan 22
The executive committee of the Bar Association, in a meeting held today to work out the election agenda, unanimously decided to hold elections to the offices of the Bar Association for 1999 on January 22. A.S. Chahal, president of the association, informed that the members who have already paid their subscription shall have the right to cast their vote. He added that the old members whose names find a place in the last voting list can cast their vote after they have paid the subscription up to January 15.

Film on Shaheed Udham Singh
To commemorate the 300 years of the birth of the Khalsa Panth, Surjit Movies, is launching a film "Shaheed Udham Singh alias Ram Mohammed Singh Azad" based on the life of freedom fighter Udham Singh. Stating this, a press release added that the opening shot of the film would be shot at the Shaheed Udham Singh stadium, Sunam, on December 26. The film stars Raj Babbar as Udham Singh and Gurdas Mann as Bhagat Singh, the release added.

Chief Minister P.S. Badal, the release said, would give the Muhurat clap.

Annual function of schools held
Annual Sports and Prize Distribution function of Government High School, Sector 40 was held in the school premises here today. About 400 pupils participated in the annual games which included 400 and 200 metre race, apple race, chati race, slow cycling, skipping, balloon fighting, cock fighting, throws, jumping, kite flying. Winners of last year's annual sports were given prizes today. Ramgarhia Public School had its Annual prize distribution at Tagore Theatre. The pupils also presented a colourful programme.

Essay contest n TO create awareness about the harmful effects of using polythene and non-biodegradable products, an essay writing competition was held at DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8-C here today.The competition was jointly organised by Department of Environment and the DAV school. Some 400 pupils took part in two categories comprising Class V to VII and class VIII to X pupils.

Christmas function
Children sang Christmas carols at Aanchal Preparatory School, Sector 35-A and Blue Bird High School, Sector 16, Panchkula. Dressed as a blood drop, Tanmya won the Fancy Dress competition. The students were required to write on one of the topics -- Harmful Effects of Plastic, Plastic and Our Health, and What Can Students do to Reduce the Use of Plastic in Daily Life.
