VADODARA, Dec 22: Campaigning for those contesting for the posts of the faculty general secretary of the Faculty of Arts, Maharaja Sayaji University came to a close on Tuesday. While as many as 16 candidates are in the fray for the five posts of the FGS, the results will be declared on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, those contesting for the posts of FGS from the Faculty of Commerce also campaigned outside tuition classes in various parts of the city.
However, this year campaigning is a low-key affair. Though student union leaders went from room to room to introduce themselves and deliver speeches, there was no slogan-shouting like in the past.
Students contesting for the post of the university general secretary and the vide-president also campaigned on the city roads, leading to traffic congestion, specially in the Jubilee Baug area.
One of the contestants for the post of the FGS from the Faculty of Commerce claimed that they had to go outside the campus to campaign because of the thin attendance of students in the commerce faculty.
According to him, tuition classes were the best places to draw students' attention.
